LAMY is a French family business of about ten employees, located in the Pays de la Loire region in western France, specializing in tree pruning and felling for over 35 years. Its owner, Sylvain Banchereau, has already purchased around fifteen machines from French FSI partner FSI Franskan – including several FSI stump grinders.
A Very Human Approach to Understanding Needs
Initially, he chose FSI Franskan somewhat by chance: he needed specific equipment for branch chipping, so he contacted three different suppliers and conducted comparative trials on these three brands.
At first glance, it was the attentiveness of the FSI Franskan team that caught his attention; Sylvain places great importance on personal interaction. The fact that the team took time to listen carefully and discuss his needs in detail reassured him.
When he conducted the trials, he realized that the equipment recommended by FSI Franskan was perfectly suited to his needs, and above all, that the machines were highly efficient. All of this convinced Sylvain to continue working with FSI Franskan.
FROM PURCHASING ONE MACHINE TO BUILDING A COMPLETE FLEET
Being satisfied with his first purchase and his relationship with the team, he then followed up with the purchase of an FSI D30 stump grinder, which he has since replaced twice. He gradually expanded the fleet to follow the evolving needs of the company Mr. Banchereau has previously owned an FSI B20 and an FSI D67, as well as three FSI D74 grinders. This loyal customer has never been disappointed; he regularly renews his fleet and now owns an extensive range of FSI machines.
Over time, a close partnership was established, and Sylvain became a true collaborator who also contributes to product improvement. Small details from everyday use were reported back to FSI Stump Cutters, and Mr. Banchereau was delighted to see that certain improvements on the latest machines reflected his feedback.

The machines are not oversized monsters: for example, the ability to crane the stump grinder over a wall, remove the twin wheels, maneuver easily around stumps, and transport the unit without difficulty makes it an essential tool for all job sites.
Mr. Banchereau is also satisfied because, whereas other tracked grinders tend to “plow up” the terrain, the wheeled grinder leaves it clean and undamaged. The stumps are removed and the ground remains intact. The end customer is therefore satisfied after LAMY’s work.
