Five years ago, Anders Løntoft started his stump cutting business ‘Jysk Stubfræsning’ located near Aarhus, Denmark, and since then, things have been going only one way – up!
Reliable machines that get the job done
When Anders started his business, it was more of a hobby, but today, his one-man business provides stump cutting services across western and central Denmark teaming up with both arborists, contractors, and gardeners to get the job done – from the biggest trees to the smallest stumps. And since the beginning, Anders has only used machines from FSI.
“Why change something that works well? That is why I only use FSI machines. I have three machines in total – two big D74, one wheeled and one tracked, and a D30 – and no matter the project I am working on, I can always rely on these machines. They are very functional and user-friendly, which makes my job a pleasure”, says Anders Løntoft, owner of Jysk Stubfræsning.
As this kind of work is very seasonal, especially the reliability of the machines is of great importance to Anders and his business. Over the course of eight months – from March until the end of October – all the hard work is put in, and it is vital to Anders that his machines are working without any problems.
“During those eight months, my yearly salary is earned, and if one of my machines breaks down, it can have a very negative impact on my business if it is not up and running again very quickly. Luckily, when it comes to receiving new spare parts or getting the machines serviced by FSI, this is always easy and efficient. Typically, the machine is fixed within a day allowing me to get on with my work”, explains Anders Løntoft.
When personal contact makes the difference
To Anders, reliable and functional machines are one thing, another is credibility and a personal relation, and since the beginning five years ago, the personal contact has been a key point in the relation between Anders and FSI.
“For me, the personal contact is very important, and it is definitely one of the reasons why I enjoy working with FSI. When I give them a call, the issues are often fixed over the phone – it does not get easier than that. They indeed know what they are talking about and at the same time, they understand my needs as a one-man business”, concludes Anders Løntoft.
